Mechanical Drafter - RMH Systems Inc.

RMH Systems, one of the Midwest's largest material handling, packaging, and industrial scale distributors, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to support our crane sales operations.  Our teams find opportunities to consult, design, and implement industrial cranes, hoists, conveyors, and racking systems.  

We are looking for an organized individual with a strong drafting background to work with our sales & engineering teams to convert conceptual designs into technical plans.  This person’s responsibilities include gathering sketches, specifications, and project scopes/sequences of operations from our sales staff.  From that information, they will calculate material and equipment requirements to create working drawings for use in sales presentations and the final production of equipment.

Pay: Pay ranges from $60,000-90,000 depending on experience.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create mechanical, approval, and construction drawings in Auto-cad for industrial cranes and hoist projects
• Create 3D models within Autodesk Inventor (preferred) or SolidWorks
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations, develop bill of materials
• Generate drawings from field survey data
• Advise sales team on design functionality of equipment systems
• Support sales team on sales calls or design plans
• Work with vendors regarding design details
• Assist inside sales personnel with proper execution of project documents
• Ensure deadlines are met with minimal re-work

Requirements for the position:

• Mechanical drawing experience (minimum of 3 years)
• Experience in Inventor or SolidWorks
• Experience with industrial equipment design is proffered.   
• Driven, detail-oriented, organized, and strong communication skill
