Job Title: MEP Drafter
Location: North Chicago, IL
Hire Type: Onsite, Long-term Contract (with full benefits)
Target Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.00/hour (W2)
Job Summary:
Seeking an CAD Drafting Technician with at least 2+ years of relevant experience working with Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing drawings. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using AutoCAD and will focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. You will work on multiple projects, producing detailed designs and ensuring the coordination of various drawing sets.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop and adjust designs for MEP projects.
- Create and modify drawings to support construction and validation systems for various divisions.
- Develop process flow diagrams and one-line drawing updates for various MEP systems.
- Conduct walkdowns and review and adjust CAD/BIM models.
- Coordinate and manage drawing sets, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with project teams and external engineering firms to gather requirements and ensure the successful execution of designs.
- Ensure familiarity with facility process piping (Compressed Air, Nitrogen, water systems, etc.) and incorporate these elements into designs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of design-drafting experience for MEP projects.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD is required. Revit is a plus.
- Ability to understand, create, and modify MEP as-built drawings.
- Good skills in MS Office, including the ability to understand and coordinate drawing sets.
- Familiarity with facility process piping (Compressed Air, Nitrogen, water systems, etc.) is helpful.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with project teams and external engineering firms.
