The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
-Need an L4 Team Lead to lead engine design efforts for new NPI programs
-This position is within the C27/C32/3400V engine platform team – L4 team has accountability for the engine design/performance/manufacturability
-Team culture is technical, quality driven, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must
-As an L4 Program Lead, you will provide technical leadership for new Machine and Commercial engine programs as well as product robustness initiatives that will improve engine health in the field and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for our customers.
Typical task breakdown:
-Leading engine design efforts for new NPI programs, including Design Reviews from initial content definition through full Production
-Identifying program risks and tradeoffs and providing technical solution
-Acting as the integration point between L5 application and L3 design teams
-Providing technical leadership for NPI, NTI, CPI, and BIQ issue resolution
-Coordinating builds with the factory and addressing assembly issues
-Evaluating and deploying engine robustness and service interval improvements
-Travel of 5-10% may be required to interact with manufacturing or supplier personnel

-Will work closely with immediate team and will be required to work with a cross functional team and influence teams not in your direct

-If traveling, potentially exposed to shop floor environment
