Dynamic Sealing Technologies, Inc. (DSTI) of Andover, MN is looking to hire a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our team. DSTI is at the forefront in the designing and producing high performance custom fluid sealing solutions for the world's most challenging applications. We are locally owned and operated yet offer an ever-expanding opportunity to make a global impact. Mechanical Engineers at DSTI Responsible for new product development and product support. This includes designing components and assemblies, developing procedures for product assembly and testing, supporting production in resolving questions or difficulties, and providing support for installing, using, and servicing products.Typical Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities Review customer applications, specifications, and requirements. Develop product designs and manufacturing plans to meet them. Perform mechanical design work that considers proper function of mechanical parts, reliability, manufacturability, design for assembly, tolerance for manufacturing variances, etc.Perform calculations such as stress analysis, pressure drop and flow analysis, and other performance analyses as necessary to ensure designs meet requirements. Develop drawings, assembly instructions, test procedures, and other documents to support all stages of product development from concept to production launch.Review production records such as test reports, inspection records, and material certifications to ensure products meet requirements.Collaborate with other DSTI departments to solve production/design issues.Participate in, or lead engineering and general design review meetings as required.Keep organized project records for product design and other efforts. Manage personal workload and priorities to keep multiple projects on schedule.Make effective use of computer and other systems to communicate and manage workflow.May interact with customers on engineering design and any questions/problems they may have.May interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company.Provide work instruction to CAD Drafters. Identify and address improvement opportunities within the engineering department and throughout the company (improve efficiency, reduce risk, etc.)Perform job duties safely and within DSTI's established safety programs.May perform other duties as assigned.Technical Qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field required. Associate degree and relevant experience may be substituted. 0-5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role. Proficiency in CAD solid modeling required. SolidWorks experience strongly desired. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Organizational abilities, both in physical and electronic workspace. Consistent attention to detail. A high degree of mechanical aptitude. Strong problem solving skills (organized, logical, creative, collaborative). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively allocate efforts to meet multiple priorities and deadlines.
