MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Job Description:
This position will be responsible to create and modify detailed design drawings using 3D CAD modeling and design with Pro/E Wildfire or Solidworks. You will analyze and design electro-mechanical parts/systems based on engineering input: sketches, drawings, and conversion from 2D drawings to 3D models. You must be willing and able to design prototypes or modifications to existing product or equipment, maintain the data base by entering data, updating documentation, completing backups, and to assist engineering to collect and organize files to create logical bill of material, etc. Knowledge of safety standards will also be needed.
Position Responsibility:
• Create CAD models of plastic components with the proper tolerances for the injection molding process.
• Works closely with internal resources, external resources, and customers to successfully develop new and innovative products.
• Determine relevant characterization tests and methods to solve plastic material processing, bonding, assembly, and part design assignments.
• Manage intellectual property searches.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in 3D drawing skills in Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of plastics materials, processing, and injection molding
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to problem solving.
• Ability to interact effectively with other group members.
• Self-directed and independent.
• Knowledge and experience in product validation.
