Founded in 2019, Talon employs over 150 Aerospace and Defense engineers and other support staff to solve problems for a variety of applications to include aircraft, ballistics, cybersecurity, motorsports, armor development, biological systems, missiles, and warheads. Talon has an office in Tucson, AZ that is providing staffing solutions, technical services support, and manufacturing to Fortune 500 companies.

Mechanical Engineer Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer will work in a variety of industries, designing and developing machinery pieces that exceed customers' needs and expectations. They also analyze and evaluate any issues with current products to develop effective solutions. After they design new products, they'll conduct experiments on them to see how successful they are and to determine if any additional updates are needed. The intent is to help Spectra improve their current manufacturing process for integrating the GLSDB AUR by eliminating process variation, improving process flow and integrating optimum process/procedures that will drive significant rate increase capability in their factory. Total travel will be based on collaborative team findings/suggestions and guidance with and from the team.
Primary Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and other mechanical engineering concepts
- Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus and physics
- Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software
- Creative thinking and innovation
- Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of target user and market
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic equipment and system design.
- Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Good understanding of engineering processes and IT tools.

- Basic understanding of electronics
Must Have Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Must be able to verify regulatory compliance of designs by analytical methods or testing prototypes.
- Solve design issues and verify solutions through analysis and test
- Able to evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
- Operate in a team environment, coordinating with other functional areas such as software, electrical, and manufacturing to provide input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
- Able to perform other related duties as required.
