Description:
The Staff Mechanical Engineer will lead computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design project to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and re-developments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. Regular meetings with the CFD Team Manager will be required for resource and project completion planning.
Lead CFD analysis of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
Applies expert knowledge of commonly used CFD concepts, practices, and procedures within the CFD services industry.
Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
Quality review production CFD models for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CFD and CAD related software.
Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Participate sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
Master's level is preferred.
Minimum 4 years related professional experience in CFD analysis.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to fluid and thermal analysis of building thermal management systems, external flow modeling of buildings and cooling towers, clean room spaces, and various other fluid systems.
Experience in steady-state and transient CFD modeling is required.
Experience with battery energy storage systems, data centers, and clean manufacturing spaces is a plus.
Capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Experience with Autodesk CFD or Ansys Fluent products is preferred.
Experience with Revit, Autocad or similar 3D modeling software is preferred.
Must be expert in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
