Mechanical Engineer - Selectek, Inc.

Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the accurate and efficient engineering and design of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will perform entry to intermediate-level aspects of engineering assignments and collaborate with senior engineering staff to extend and leverage their expertise.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BS in Mechanical Engineering).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• 5 or more years of demonstrated experience with mechanical design in the building and construction industry (experience determines compensation).
• Valid Ohio state driver’s license required.
• EIT/PE license preferred but not a must-have.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accurate and efficient engineering and design of mechanical systems.
  • Performs design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required by assignment.
  • Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects and recommends necessary changes.
  • Researches code issues and collaborates with city, state, and county officials.
  • Researches design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices consistently to all assigned projects.
  • Prepares and completes engineering designs responsive to project and customer needs.
  • Employs appropriate engineering standards according to applicable codes as directed.
  • Actively checks the accuracy of own work prior to forwarding to Engineer for review.
• Assists with the management of engineering projects as assigned.
  • Coordinates project assignments with other engineers and technicians in the discipline group.
  • Assists with the coordination and preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas to complete projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Participates in conducting project site observations.
  • Assists with gathering data required for the project and neatly prepares all required logs, sketches, and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams as required.
  • Observes project progress on-site and manages the relationship with project contractors.
• Keeps abreast of engineering developments to recommend changes in program or design methods.
• Provides technical reviews of work products produced by any firm employee upon request.
• Participates in the development of service line methodologies and produces informative white papers outlining work processes.
• Actively participates in all company meetings and training sessions.
• Keeps accurate records of time and expenses on a daily basis.
• Maintains a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail programs in use in the office.
• Maintains a record of acceptable attendance and punctuality.
• Observes all company rules and safety procedures.

Salary Range:

• $75,000- $100,000

Shift and Hours:

• Monday- Friday
• 8 AM- 5 PM
