We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the accurate and efficient engineering and design of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will perform entry to intermediate-level aspects of engineering assignments and collaborate with senior engineering staff to extend and leverage their expertise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BS in Mechanical Engineering).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- 5 or more years of demonstrated experience with mechanical design in the building and construction industry (experience determines compensation).
- Valid Ohio state drivers license required.
- EIT/PE license preferred but not a must-have.
- Responsible for the accurate and efficient engineering and design of mechanical systems.
- Performs design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required by assignment.
- Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects and recommends necessary changes.
- Researches code issues and collaborates with city, state, and county officials.
- Researches design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
- Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices consistently to all assigned projects.
- Prepares and completes engineering designs responsive to project and customer needs.
- Employs appropriate engineering standards according to applicable codes as directed.
- Actively checks the accuracy of own work prior to forwarding to Engineer for review.
- Assists with the management of engineering projects as assigned.
- Coordinates project assignments with other engineers and technicians in the discipline group.
- Assists with the coordination and preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas to complete projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Participates in conducting project site observations.
- Assists with gathering data required for the project and neatly prepares all required logs, sketches, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams as required.
- Observes project progress on-site and manages the relationship with project contractors.
- Keeps abreast of engineering developments to recommend changes in program or design methods.
- Provides technical reviews of work products produced by any firm employee upon request.
- Participates in the development of service line methodologies and produces informative white papers outlining work processes.
- Actively participates in all company meetings and training sessions.
- Keeps accurate records of time and expenses on a daily basis.
- Maintains a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail programs in use in the office.
- Maintains a record of acceptable attendance and punctuality.
- Observes all company rules and safety procedures.
