Selectek has a client located in the Pittsburgh, PA area that has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer.
Required:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience in the design and coordination of mechanical systems
Demonstrated knowledge of building codes and regulations
Proficient in AutoCAD, other design software
Must be detail oriented and quality driven
Must have strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skill
Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and mechanical construction documents
Preferred:
Proficient in Revit
Job order details:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining mechanical systems in healthcare, higher-education, central plant, K-12, corporate, government, data centers, and many other structures. This can include assessing the feasibility of proposed projects, developing design plans, collaborating with other engineers and architects, and overseeing construction and installation of mechanical systems.
Duties include:
Design HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems that meet specific project requirements, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design, and control system design
Developing and analyzing energy models to optimize energy efficiency in buildings
Creating detailed engineering drawings and specifications for mechanical systems, including plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems
Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to ensure that mechanical systems integrate seamlessly with the overall building design
Overseeing the construction and installation of mechanical systems, including commissioning and testing of equipment
Conducting site visits to assess existing mechanical systems and recommend improvements or upgrades
Staying up-to-date with new technologies and industry developments to ensure that design and installation practices are state-of-the-art
Ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards
Sponsorship: No
Pay range: $90,000 - $150,000
Term of assignment: Direct hire
Hours and shift: Monday - Friday 8AM 5PM but flexible as long as they get their 40 hours each week
Work from home: Hybrid possible once a candidate is established
Working remote: No
Overtime expected: No
Travel: 10% to client sites
Work attire: Business Casual
