Zebra Technologies is looking for a Mechanical Engineer I to join our Engineering Customer Response Team (ECRT) within Enterprise Mobile Computing (EMC). This entry-level role blends post-release engineering support with cost-reduction initiatives for our mobile computing portfolio, which includes wearables, tablets, and handheld devices.
In this role, you’ll tackle customer issues, enhance product designs, and drive cost-effective solutions, all while collaborating with a top-tier team and making a significant impact on customer satisfaction and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:
+ Post-Release Engineering Support: Address and resolve mechanical issues on released products, including customer requests, product enhancements, and end-of-life support.
+ Post-Release Cost Reduction Initiatives:
+ Scope and Execute an annual roadmap of cost reduction programs.
+ Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across the EMC portfolio. Work with Joint Design and Manufacturing (JDM) partners and suppliers to develop and release cost-reduced designs.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, service, product management, and other teams to provide timely solutions and improvements.
+ Design Improvements: Engage in root cause analysis, prototyping, and design concept reviews to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs.
+ Project Management: Handle multiple engineering projects, including those with high visibility to senior leadership.
+ Communication: Clearly communicate engineering solutions across global teams and business units.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or related required
+ 1+ years of engineering experience
+ Experience and/or knowledge in Creo for part and assembly design
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in product design for rugged or portable electronic products
+ Experience with injection-molded plastics, die-cast parts, and precision sheet metal
+ Knowledge of DFA/DFM, tolerance analysis, and mechanical stress/vibration analysis
+ Desirable: Experience in opto-mechanical design, structural FEA, and ODM/JDM models
+ Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Salary: USD 65500.00 - USD 98300.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
