We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations Engineering team. As a Mechanical Engineer you will assist with product development, tooling design, generating engineering drawings for manufacturing, build tools and machinery, testing tooling and products, and perform inspection on parts and tools.
You'll report to the Senior Manager, Operations Engineering and work from our Santa Ana, CA office. Occasional travel (<10%) to vendors and other domestic and international Collectors facilities.
What You'll Do:
- Create custom automation solutions for operations efficiency.
- Develop new customer facing products, including holders for collectible encapsulation.
- Develop tooling and equipment for internal use (imaging machines, sonic welding solutions, etc.).
- Create technical drawings for new and existing components and assemblies.
- Perform engineering change processes as necessary for products and equipment.
- Document process steps to ensure work standardization.
- Develop and execute test plans in conjunction with process and quality engineering for products, tooling, and fixtures.
- Inspect parts for dimensional and other physical attributes.
- Identify opportunities for product, equipment, and process improvements.
- Commission new injection molds for high volume production.
- Work cross-functionally with Quality, Purchasing, Continuous Improvement, and Manufacturing teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar Engineering field, or equivalent work experience. Master's Degree preferred.
- 4-5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Strong understanding of mechanical automation.
- Understanding of engineering software tools, e.g. SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curious by nature, consistently seeking to learn new processes, systems, and tools; asks questions to ensure understanding.
- Team player with an ability to take direction/feedback and work in a deadline sensitive environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Experience in tool design and injection molding is a plus.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $75,140 - $101,660. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
