Title: Mechanical Engineer in Plastics and Molds/ sliders ON Small Products (Phones, CAMERAS, etc)
Rate: $ 45/ hour
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania F2F OR SKYPE J
Scope:
Looking for an ME with experience working on small form factor products (phones, tablets, IoT, video devices like Amazon Fire, cameras like GoPro, and so on (do not want industrial size products).
Must Have:
Experience with plastics and working with manufacturers on molds and sliders to help ensure the quality of the product to minimize draft and parting lines
Plastic experience is a must, they do not build products with stamped metal anymore, everything is plastic, though there are some metal parts (having both plastic and metal is preferred).
Nice to Have:
Experience with thermal analysis is desired.
The candidate needs to work with EE and ID team to take products from concept to design to manufacturing (EE provides board layout and works with ME on thermals, ME determines volume and heat sinks needed to get heat away from ICs, ME then works with ID team on the CAD for the look and feel of the product, etc..).
Interview Process:
Phone screen with Chris and maybe two other engineers on his team followed by an in person with the VP and a few others on the team. In person would be preferred for this, but would consider a Skype/Video conference call if necessary.
