Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Engineer position within the Science and Technology (S&T) organization is responsible for supporting the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components for electro-mechanical combination and medical device products. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and the ability to apply them to solve complex engineering problems.
Primary goals, objectives and functions include:
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components to meet project specifications.
- Conduct analysis and testing to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs into larger systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks software.
- Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and apply them to projects.
Required:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering AND 2+ years in the Medical Device, Biotech or Pharmaceutical Industry in relevant device development.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering AND 5+ years in the Medical Device, Biotech or Pharmaceutical Industry in relevant device development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Experience executing and documenting Design Verification testing for medical devices.
- Experience using Polarian product development and Veeva Vault documentation tools.
- Experience executing Reliability Verification testing for electro-mechanical medical devices.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with FEA and CFD tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience in project management.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
