Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in packaging engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and packaging solutions for our client in lake forest that specializes in food automation products.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $90,000-$120,000
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems and packaging solutions using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure integrated system designs.
- Lead the design and development of new packaging equipment and systems from concept to production.
- Create detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs and ensure they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and validation processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during development and production stages.
- Optimize existing packaging systems for improved performance, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies related to packaging engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a minimum of 7 years of experience
- Strong background in packaging engineering, food industry is a plus
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards related to packaging.
