Our client, a well-established and respected engineering firm based in Austin, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer PE/PM with expertise in HVAC and/or plumbing design to join their growing team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering competitive compensation, a robust benefits package, and bonus/401K and PTO programs.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate, design, and generate AutoCAD/Revit files and construction documents to support MEP engineering projects across various building types (commercial offices, schools, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, multifamily housing, etc.), with a primary focus on HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Manage projects of various sizes, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget, including resource allocation and performance monitoring.
- Maintain and organize mechanical engineering-related documents, schedules, and project-related materials.
- Review mechanical design submittals and provide field support to resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise.
- Present project status updates to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients to develop new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in HVAC or plumbing design and project management. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential, with additional experience in HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and/or AIRMaster being highly desirable.
- Experience in HVAC and plumbing design and project management for commercial, educational, healthcare, and institutional buildings is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, from subcontractors to project owners.
