We are seeking a Test Engineering intern to support our Engineers and Sr. Technicians at our Houston test lab facilities beginning Summer of 2025.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities will comprise of test setups including pressure, temperature, force, vibration, and other parameters to simulate working environments and/or extreme conditions. All parameters are recorded through a PC-based data acquisition system.
Other duties might include:
- the use of hand and power tools.
- the installation and troubleshooting of various sensors.
- strain gauge applications.
- hydraulic circuit installations.
- and the operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, pumps, controllers, and other equipment required to setup and execute tests.
Qualifications
- Must at least a have or be working toward a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- Must have a strong academic background, enjoy hands on work, and possess good people skills.
- Hands-on experience in fabrication, construction, manual labor, farm or ranch work, automotive, or similar industries is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Electronic/Mechanical aptitude required.
- Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook required.
- Ability to follow instructions (oral and written) while working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment required.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be able to pick up and carry 50lbs regularly.
- Willing to ask questions about testing plans and to bring independent thought on methods by which tests may be done.
