Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Mechanical Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, reviewing plans and specifications, and communicating with clients and vendors. This role will be located in West Central Georgia, but some work from home may be acceptable.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects focused in the Mechanical, HVAC, & Plumbing disciplines.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential issues or discrepancies.
- Utilize construction estimating software such as FastPipe and Bluebeam to create detailed cost breakdowns.
- Research and gather pricing information for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare bid proposals and submit them to clients in a timely manner.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide cost control recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the mechanical construction industry, 5 years or more experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proficiency in using construction estimating software.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills to obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and resources.
- Experience in industrial mechanical contracting is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.

Pay: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
