Job Summary:
FAE Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Mechanical HVAC Systems Design Engineer to join our team in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing HVAC systems and be proficient in using Revit and AutoCAD 3D. You will play a critical role in designing efficient and sustainable HVAC systems for a variety of building types, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Create detailed HVAC system designs, including layout, sizing, and specification of components using Revit and AutoCAD 3D.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/pipe sizing.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to integrate HVAC designs with overall project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify installation.
- Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings.
- Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) and reviewing change orders.
- Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, reports, and construction documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC systems design.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD 3D is required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, codes, and standards.
- Experience with load calculation software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is a plus.
- LEED accreditation is a plus.
