About the Job
a joint venture operated by Worthington Steel is looking to add mechanical maintenance technicians to the 2nd and 3rd shifts teams at our steel coil processing facility
located just outside of Cleveland
Ohio.
As a member of the maintenance team
you will apply your problem-solving and technical skills to repair and troubleshoot a variety of basic to advanced mechanical equipment problems and perform preventative and mechanical maintenance.
Our ideal team member has a multi-craft background and possess a sound understanding of industrial / heavy equipment machine repair
along with a work ethic and attention to quality to grow with our company. They could also have electrical and PLC manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities
- Completes requested mechanical repairs on our steel pickling and slitting production lines and other machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery assigned and successfully troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Complete welding and fabrication tasks with little direction (MIG
Stick)
- Accountable for entering data into maintenance system timely and accurately.
- Perform basic electrical tasks to work in maintenance field safely.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience
- Understanding of hydraulics
pneumatics and mechanical systems
to effectively perform simple to complex repairs - Basic cutting and welding skills
preferred (MIG/Stick)
- Capability to read and utilize mechanical
electrical
hydraulic and pneumatic prints.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting
- Basic computer and data entry skills; ability to learn and understand new technology.
- Use of meters and ability to complete basic measurements and math.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing or heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred.
- Lockout/tagout
fall protection
PPE
confined-spaced training
a plus.
- Complete knowledge of standard operating procedures
- Experience with Allen Bradley and Allen Bradley PLC
- Ability to work overtime
including weekend and holiday hours
with advanced notice.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work
including extensive walking
bending
standing
heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
squatting
and work in a variable temperature environment.
