Mechanical Project Manager
Effective management of each individual project by the Project Team is the key to the profitability, success, and growth of the company as a whole. Mechanical Project Managers are key member of the Project Team and are responsible for assisting the Team Leader and Project Superintendent in the planning, management and administration of projects including project scheduling, shop drawing review, submittal management, change order estimating and jobsite procurement. Mechanical Project Managers may be assigned to either the Project Field Office and or the Main Office depending on specific assignments.

Required Experience:
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Document control, Coordinates and expedites flow of information and documents.
- Drawing control and distribution
- Maintenance and submission of 'as-built' drawings
2. Posting of changes, clarifications and RFI’s in drawings and specifications
- Generating and tracking RFI’s
- Maintains working documents in paper and electronic formats
3. Change Management.
- Tracking and distribution of change and clarification documents to the field, subcontractors and suppliers
- Assists in Change Order Estimating under the direction/review of the Team Leader
4. Project Start up
- Assists in development, monitoring and updating the mechanical activities included in the Project Schedule
- Assists in scheduling mechanical construction operations in cooperation with the Team Leader and the Project Superintendent
- Assists in subcontractor management by helping the Project Superintendent coordinate the schedule of subcontractor work operations
- Assist Superintendent in preparation of the weekly 'Short Term Look Ahead Schedule'
- to monitor progress and assure all work is
- Scheduled for maximum efficiency
- Schedules, processes and monitors mechanical submittals
- Material Purchasing. Prices and purchases materials as directed by the Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent
- Assists with various field tasks at the direction of the Project Manager and /or Superintendent (e.g. correspondence, schedule/attend/take minutes for meetings, follow up on safety issues, assist in Quality Control)
- Develop and maintain the Div 11 Equipment Log
- Develop and maintain the Valve Tracking Log
- Develops and maintains the hydrotesting plan
5. Project Meetings
- Schedules, attends and takes minutes for Project Meetings
- Participates in 'Red Book' meetings and assists with action items assigned
- Participates in periodic Project Planning Meetings
6. Project Closeout
- Distribution and tracking of 'Punch lists'
- Expediting and assembly of project closeout documentation (warranties, operating & maintenance manuals, material for maintenance stock, etc.)
- Expediting lien releases from subcontractors and suppliers in cooperation with the Accounting Department
- Collection, inventory and turnover of all spare parts
8. Start-up and commissioning:
- Writing the Functional Test Plan
- Scheduling the manufacturers start-up technicians
- Supporting the star-up activities as directed by the Project Manager and Superintendent.
9. Project Acquisition
- Mechanical Project Manager may be assigned specific responsibilities related to bidding work such as attending bid walks, soliciting specialty trade contractors or assisting in the development of specific portions of the estimate.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Self-starter with initiative, enthusiasm, and energy.
- Works well under pressure
- Undergraduate degree in Construction Management
COMPUTER SKILLS PREFERRED
- Strong skills in the following Software
- Microsoft Word/Excel/Project
- Project Management Software - Viewpoint and Procore preferred
- Primavera Scheduling Software
- Bluebeam/Adobe
The anticipated salary range for this position is $ 108K to $ 145K per year. This does not include bonus compensation or other benefits such as health, disability, life, retirement, or other benefits which may impact total compensation. The actual offered salary to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to skill set, experience, education, qualifications, and location. This salary range is subject to future modification.
