About the Job
gpac is partnered with a reputable mechanical contractor seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee complex piping, plumbing, and HVAC projects. This role will be responsible for managing large-scale commercial projects from planning to completion, ensuring high-quality work delivered on time and within budget.
What You'll Do:
- Manage all phases of mechanical construction projects, including piping, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Coordinate with internal teams, general contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Review and understand project plans, specifications, drawings, contracts, and budgets.
- Oversee on-site foremen and manage union crews effectively.
- Monitor project schedules, costs, and quality control, addressing any issues that arise.
- Ensure projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Prepare project status reports, budget forecasts, and other necessary documentation.
- Handle procurement, negotiate with vendors, and oversee material ordering and delivery schedules.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Mechanical Project Management, focusing on piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience managing multiple commercial mechanical projects valued between $5MM and $30MM.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Excellent skills in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
