Your Role at Pura:
We are looking for a mechanical engineer with experience in research and development, prototyping, simulation and bringing new technologies to life! The manufacturing engineer at Pura will be responsible for working with the R&D team as well as our product development team to implement new and innovative ideas. You will help us inspire a belief in the power of fragrance to craft and elevate memorable moments for our Owners. What You’ll Own:
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, electrical, and software engineers, as well as sensory scientists and fragrance chemists. Participate in ideation and synthesis workshops to develop and refine product concepts.
- Concept Development: You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to review feasibility and integrate technical specifications. You will refine product designs based on user feedback and iterative testing.
- Test Planning and Development: You will design, plan, and execute mechanical tests for products and components, including stress, fatigue, vibration, thermal, performance, and environmental testing.
- Test Documentation: You will work closely with design engineering and manufacturing to create and document test protocols.
- Reporting: You will create detailed reports documenting test results. You will be responsible for communicating the results and findings with the design engineering team, stakeholders and manufacturing
- Project Ownership: You will take charge and ownership of your projects through each step of the R&D design process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on research and development. Experience in taking products from concept to production.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD). Strong knowledge of materials science, thermodynamics, and mechanical systems.
- Proven track record of developing innovative products or technologies. Ability to think creatively and solve complex engineering problems.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and other rapid prototyping techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret test data and make data-driven design decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly present ideas and technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage relationships with external partners.
