Job Summary
Seeking a confident and knowledgeable sales professional to help grow our HVAC and Plumbing Service Department. This is a comprehensive Account Representative position requiring an understanding of both sales and HVAC mechanical and plumbing systems. You will be responsible for service sales, building and maintaining new and existing long-term business relationships, signing up new accounts and ensuring repeat business for all new and existing commercial and industrial accounts.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide customer support to assigned service sales accounts including fostering relationships with owners, owner representatives, facility managers, property managers and building engineers responsible in the decision-making process
- Identify customer demands and offer proactive solutions to address needs before they become challenges
- Ensure work meets or exceed the customer's expectations and performance criteria
- Develop and execute new account development through prospecting, cold-calling, networking and tapping into other lead generating opportunities
- Gather preliminary information via facility walk-throughs, construction plan review and other methods as necessary for pricing of preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Single contact sales representative for clients
- Standard workdays are Monday through Friday with occasional after hours on-call management
Competencies
- History of successfully closing sales of HVAC and Plumbing service agreements and maintenance contracts
- Proven understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, HVAC layouts and designs and a desire to continue to improve industry knowledge.
- Strong network and existing relationships within the local building market such as building owners property managers and mechanical industry subcontractors is highly desirable
- A minimum of three years in technical sales, business development or consulting within the HVAC industry. Knowledge of HVAC building services, building automation or controls, and related service and preventative maintenance contracts is highly desirable.
- Ability to act in a professional manner with high ethical standards promoting a collaborative and respectful team environment.
- Confident, highly driven, self-starter with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multitask independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and currently maintain a safe driving record.
- Site visits are required which may include outdoor work, work in mechanical/equipment rooms, exposure to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights and climbing ladders and other environmental conditions
- Application of Microsoft Office Suite, Field Squared and Bluebeam business software
