We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy to fulfill our Mechanical Service Manager role.
The purpose of the Mechanical Service Manager is to provide the daily direction and distribution of service work orders to Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technicians as well as oversight of the work performed. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills are vital for this role.
What You’ll Do on a Typical Day:
- Receives, creates, and assigns all service work orders
- Assist branch and operations manager with maintaining up to date employee administrative files, DOT Med Cards, ASE/TIA certifications, forklift safety, employee evaluations, etc.
- Monitor the quality of all service work performed.
- Manage customer scheduled fleet work, scrap tire analysis, and other customer needs.
- Assist the Branch Manager with managing and maintaining inventory according to company standards.
- Operate Michelin 24/7 or On Call website.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- At least 2 years' management experience in the diesel and heavy duty industry
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer service-oriented
- Familiar with VMRS codes, maintenance software, and Microsoft Office
- Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards (required)
- Federal Annual and Brake Inspector certification (preferred)
- Commercial TIA certification required after six months of employment
- Medium/Heavy Truck ASE certifications (preferred)
- Must have strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as close attention to detail.
- Prior knowledge or ability to learn, implement, and monitor state/federal OSHA regulations.
- Knowledge of fleet operations and maintenance reporting
- Knowledge of OEM and aftermarket parts/suppliers within the transportation/mechanical industry.
