As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be a viable member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces and integrating innovative systems.

As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be a viable member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces and integrating innovative systems.
Key Activities
- Create concepts, specifications and technical documentation for various passenger rail vehicle systems
- Responsible for the design and integration of assigned systems into various rail vehicles
- Coordinate technical and project system requirements between Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and other engineering teams
- Primary technical liaison for contracted external system suppliers
- Interpret and incorporate local, federal and customer requirements into system design
- Define procurement documentation, type testing and commissioning documentation
- Support static and dynamic field testing of rail vehicles
- Responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAI) of assigned systems
- Follow scheduling, budgetary goals and guidelines
- Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering discipline
- Experience with designing and defining complex systems
- Independent and well-structured working methods
- Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines
- Excellent communication, technical writing and problem solving skills
- Great 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA V5 is a plus)
- Experience working in a PLM system (SmarTeam or TeamCenter is a plus)
