About the Job
Responsibilities:
- We are seeking a Product Development Tech for our San Diego, CA facility.
- This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope.
- Their contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics).
- Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
- Provides completion of technical tasks.
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
- Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance.
- Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project.
- Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups.
- Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing.
- Effectively documents and communicates test results.
- Supports hardware debugging.
- Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 3 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
- The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members.
- Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
- Proficiency in personal computers.
- Ability to train lower-level technicians.
