Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Job Summary
Individual assists Licensed Plumber, Electrician and HVAC Mechanics in maintaining and repairing plant, equipment and systems used by the school division, per manufacturers recommendations and established division policy. Works with other trades as necessary to complete work orders. Works off hours when school schedule dictates.
Essential Duties
- Assists plumber, electrician and HVAC mechanics in maintaining and repairing equipment
and systems in ACPS facilities.
- Daily repairs and general maintenance for property and equipment.
- Service equipment and stock equipment rooms.
- Clean air handlers and chiller coils
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Proactive worker requiring minimal supervision, with excellent work prioritization ability, excellent manual dexterity and problem solving skills, attention to detail, versatility in maintenance responsibilities, a strong working knowledge of a variety of tools and equipment, and good understanding of general maintenance processes and methods. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must be high school graduate and have at least 2 years field experience with MEP contractor or maintenance organization. Type I and II EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification is desired as well as eligibility and willingness to complete Training for Journeyman Tradesman’s license.

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.
