About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join the NFI team. The successful candidate will be responsible for starting up new automation and supporting integration of existing systems for our clients. This position will be based in Auburndale, FL and requires a combination of mechanical, electrical, and programming skills to design, build, and test complex automation systems (example: Conveyors, Carton Sorter, Gantry, AGV, Pallet shuttle)
Responsibilities:- Design and develop new automation systems for our clients.
- Support integration of existing automation systems with new equipment and processes.
- Oversee the work of contractors in accordance with project requirements.
- Develop control systems and programming for automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Participate in on-site installation, commissioning, and start-up of automation systems.
- Provide training and technical support to clients.
- Publish engineering reports documenting design details or qualification test results.
- Design, develop, or implement control circuits or algorithms for electromechanical or pneumatic devices or systems.
- Conduct studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new mechatronic equipment.
- 2-5 years of experience
- Associates degree or certification in a technical field with knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering principals.
- Thorough knowledge of and a high skill level programming of motion systems, PLCs, and associated Controls systems
- Knowledge and familiarity with Allen Bradley and RS View a plus
- Ability to understand and properly influence decisions of senior management.
- Ability to influence decision making of peers.
- Knowledge of controls systems development methodology.

- Advanced PLC programming skills.
