Looking for an exciting and rewarding career in commercial construction? We're seeking Journeyman Plumber candidates for construction projects in our Dallas, TX region.
This position will provide a great opportunity for a long-term thinker to develop construction leadership expertise across a range of markets and clients, leverage technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness, participate in a broad range of project planning and coordination duties, and grow with the company.
Must have knowledge of mathematics, drafting, and blueprint reading to determine the proper placement of piping without causing structural damage.
Position Summary:
This Journeyman Plumber must work in a variety of environments to provide and install plumbing systems per their Supervisor's instructions; they must also be able to work through means and methods to provide a quality product to the company's clientele.
- Follow and employ all company safety procedures
- Keep the work area clean and free of unnecessary debris
- Utilize plans and specifications as outlined for installing waste, vents, domestic water, natural gas, steam, and heating and cooling lines.
- Locate and layout piping and pipe connections and use hand and power tools to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings
- Cut, thread, and solder pipe to the required layout using snap cutters, pipe cutters, pipe threading equipment, and an acetylene torch.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe composed of cast iron, copper, steel, and other materials commonly used in the piping trade
- Inspect systems installed for leaks and proper grade and make necessary adjustments
- Install plumbing fixtures and make final connections to equipment.
- Must be responsible for the upkeep and possession of power tools issued from the warehouse.
- Performs other position-appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
Work Environment:
The work is completed outside at the construction site, renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and be able to talk and hear other employees talking.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
Expected Hours of Work:
- Full-time, more than 40- hours a week. May work nights and weekends, and construction may, at times, continue around the clock to meet deadlines.
Travel:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Travel to and from the construction site is required. Long-distance travel will be required, which may include overnight stays depending on the project.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 4 years of plumbing experience or relevant work experience or proven established work history for the position.
- Current TSBPE Plumbing Journeyman License
