About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Medical/Surgical **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 11.5 hours, 19:00-07:00, 12 Hour PM-AM **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, preferably with Level I or several years at a Level II Trauma center **License:** NH RN License or Compact License (proof of state residency required) **Certifications:** BLS **Must-Have:** - Experience with chest tubes, tubes, and drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone - Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients - Experience with tracheostomies/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds - Experience with central lines care and maintenance and blood draws **Job Description:** - Work in a 36-bed adult surgical unit caring primarily for trauma patients and acute care surgical patients. - Provide rehabilitation and support for patients' needs as the highest priority. - Manage traumas including spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and orthopedic injuries resulting from trauma. - Handle acute care surgical diagnoses such as hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy. - Utilize skills in a very busy environment with an emphasis on patient care and safety. - Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night.
