About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Medical-Surgical Nursing **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 7PM-7AM - Every Other Weekend 3x12 Hour Shifts **Guaranteed Hours:** 34.50 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years RN experience and 2 years of Medical Unit experience **License:** Valid RN License **Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) **Must-Have:** - EPIC experience highly preferred - Experience in travel nursing positions is preferred **Job Description:** - Deliver patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship-Centered Care and utilizing the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, using critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating tasks as appropriate. - Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and members of the healthcare team. - Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model and allocate resources effectively. - Serve as a role model for Relationship-Centered Care, engaging in practices like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding. - Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, considering their values, preferences, cultural diversity, and knowledge. - Use evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care and implement service recovery for patients and families with concerns. - Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Demonstrate clinical skills crucial to quality and safety, engaging in process improvement strategies. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement projects and nursing research studies. - Utilize institutional information technology to document nursing practices that support quality and performance improvement. - Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with management to ensure appropriate utilization of supplies and resources. - Document patient care in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and ensure patient throughput on shift basis. - Contribute to the environment of care, advancing clinical competence and projecting a professional image. - Incorporate ethical principles into decision-making and demonstrate a spirit of lifelong learning and innovation. - Participate in shared decision-making through practice councils, committees, and unit initiatives.
