About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry **Job Specialty:** MedSurg/Telemetry/Oncology **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required for submission **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS (Chemo certification is a bonus) **Must-Have:** Strong central line experience, experience with Cerner EMR, compassionate care, interest in teaching and spending time with patients **Job Description:** - Work on a MedSurg/Oncology unit with 27 beds. - Patient ratios are 1:5 for MedSurg, 1:4 for Chemo/telemetry patients. - Utilize Cerner EMR system. - Collaborate with nurse shift managers who do not take patient assignments and a resource nurse available for support. - Expected to work one weekend shift every two weeks. - Required to work two major holidays and one minor holiday. - Must wear navy scrubs. - Remote telemetry with monitoring technicians. - No ventilator patients. - 24/7 in-house hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. - No IV team, but support available via resource nurse. - Float to other MedSurg units as needed. - Complete floor-specific orientation, including Cerner training if needed and two shifts on units. - Common patient cases include general MedSurg, GYN, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, some spine and joint cases, and oncology patients with a history rather than active treatment. - Preference for nurses with strong Cerner experience and a focus on compassionate, educational patient care.
