As a Medication Technician, or who we like to refer to as Med Tech, you have the responsibility of medication administration, First-Aid and assistance with general health issues, and implementing interventions in accordance with the residents’ support plan and physician orders. This position also includes involvement in staff development and performance improvement activities!

POSITION SUMMARY
The Medication Technician has the responsibility of implementing interventions in accordance with the residents’ support plan and physician orders. This position also includes involvement in staff development and performance improvement activities. Services provided to the resident include medication administration, 1st Aid and assistance with general health issues.
The basic duties will include
- passing the morning medications each morning to the residents.
- managing all new medication orders including updating the MAR’s,
- contacting the pharmacy when there are any issues/changes/refills needed,
- contacting doctors’ offices when orders for refills are needed,
- ensuring residents get necessary blood work done to obtain certain medications,
- managing the weekly medication exchange which involves checking each resident’s roll of medications for accuracy and then putting them away in the med cart for the coming week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma, or active status on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Maintain a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
