Community First is Hiring a Full Time Medicaid Billing Coordinator for our Hamilton Ohio location!
Responsible for all Medicaid balances for Berkeley Square, Jamestowne, Westover & Kettering campuses. Manages Medicaid & Medicaid waiver billing process, and patient liability entries. Is responsible for Medicaid adjustments and collections process. Manages Long Term Care billing for all 3 campuses.
Coordinates with Private and Skilled Billing Coordinators for related balance issues, census review and client communication.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Pay: Starts at $18 and goes up based on experiance

Responsibilities:- Ensures the registration of all Medicaid clients have been completed accurately in Point Click Care (PCC).
- Verifies billing is complete and accurate and submitted within the monthly billing deadlines
- Posts payments daily.
- Reconciles and balances posted payments against each of the billing systems weekly and at month end closing.
- Reviews on a monthly basis the outstanding invoices on the open A/R and follow up as needed.
- Enters and posts related account adjustments with the exception of bad debt write off
- Follows up on all outstanding balances, determines if the invoice is collectible or provides feedback to the manger to accrue for the bad debt reserves as needed.
- Works all outstanding credit balances monthly, all government payers must be resolved within 60 days of recognizing the credit balance to the account. Resolved is defined as reviewed, refund request, and or request a recoupment to the payer within 60 days of receiving the payment.
- Manages Patient Liability balances and ensures PCC is updated
- Performs periodic audits and assist with special projects as requested.
- Coordinates LTC Billing process for Berkeley, Jamestowne, Westover
- Manages Provider Gateway entries
- Assists clients with Medicaid pending process and follow up
- Abides by the company Always Behaviors each and every day as we serve our clients, colleagues, and community.
- Will provide back up support for Skilled and Private Pay Billing Coordinators as needed.
- All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses or other required certifications:
Experience: Minimum of one-year experience in a billing specialist position. Depending on billing area supporting, experience preferred in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility environment or a Behavioral Health agency. Experience working on Point Click Care software a plus
Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Point Click Care or other EHR software
- Knowledge of Medicare/ Insurance/ Medicaid billing requirements
- Understanding of payer contracts and fee schedules preferred
- Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment
- Ability to manage relationships with various insurance payers
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Attention to detail, strong organization and time management skills
