Summary:

As a Medicaid Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Medicaid billing process, including eligibility verification, claims submission, and reimbursement tracking. This position ensures compliance with all Medicaid regulations.

Medicaid Billing Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

o Verify Medicaid eligibility for patients and ensure timely submission of claims through the appropriate clearinghouse.

o Review and obtain required authorizations and/or documentation required for reimbursement.

o Reviews, processes, submits clean and accurate Medicaid claims in a timely manner.

o Maintain detailed records and documentation related to Medicaid billing activities.

o Process denial and reconsiderations letters as needed.

o Identify and resolve discrepancies in payments and accounts by working the aging report weekly.

o Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.

o Monitor and track Medicaid reimbursements to ensure timely payments.

o Review and correct claim errors and rejections.

o Post payments received from Medicaid to patient accounts.

o Reconcile payments with billing records to ensure accuracy.

o Submit requests for Single Case Agreements as needed based on patients plan of care

o Provide support and guidance to clinical team on Medicaid billing procedures. As well as EVV compliance.

o Stay updated on Medicaid regulations and policies to ensure compliance.

o Other duties as assigned.

o This is not a remote position.

Qualifications/Experience:

o Strong understanding of Medicaid regulations and billing procedures (Preferred)

o Home Health Experience (Preferred)

o Good communication and customer service skills

o Proficient Time Management and attention to detail
