Description:
- This role is for Medical Administrative Lead Representative (Research Team)
- This role differs from the regular HEDIS Admin role, as there is limited phone or customer outreach.
- This role will require Critical Thinking, experience with performing Research, and knowledge of CPT codes and Claims data.
Duties
- The Administrative Support Specialist works under the direction of the Company Team Lead and other Company personnel.
- The position requires strong communication, computer, and clerical skills.
- Daily activities include tracking assigned research in electronic systems, utilizing Company claims systems, using the internet to gather provider/location information, and possible phone/fax outreach if needed.
- Other daily activities include the ability to manage large amounts of data electronically, file documents in electronic filing software, faxing, scanning, and abstracting documents from electronic storage devices.
- Previous experience in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Excel, and Word) is required.
The candidate will possess:
- Strong computer skills, (e.g., Data entry, Microsoft Word and Outlook, Excel, PDF, Skype, Outlook)
- Must be comfortable using multiple computer systems including working with dual monitors.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be able to perform internet research and research using Cigna proprietary software systems
- Must be detail oriented
- Must demonstrate tenacity to obtain the medical records
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology
- Must be a quick learner, who can demonstrate the ability to follow multi-step instructions, be a problem solver, and adhere to department protocols
- Ability to work independently and in team environment
- Knowledge of CPT Codes and Claims data - Required for the Admin Research Team
Education:
- High school graduate or GED equivalency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Excel, and Word) required.
- Knowledge of CPT Codes and Claims data - Required for the Admin Research Team
- Medical Assistant or Clinical Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
