Position Summary
As a Medical Accounts Receivable (AR) Representative I, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely collection of payments from insurance companies and patients. This role will involve researching claim denials, managing billing inquiries, and collaborating with healthcare providers to resolve any outstanding issues. You will play a critical role in ensuring that [Company Name] maintains healthy financial operations and positive relationships with patients and insurance providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Processing: Review and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring all claims are accurate and meet payer requirements.
- AR Management: Manage accounts receivable processes, including following up on unpaid claims and identifying payment discrepancies.
- Denials Management: Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections, coordinating with internal teams to make necessary corrections.
- Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances, explaining insurance and billing details, and answering any questions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all billing activities, follow-up actions, and communications in the billing system.
- Compliance: Ensure all AR activities comply with HIPAA regulations and internal policies to protect patient privacy.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing and analyzing reports on AR activities, including identifying trends and areas for improvement.
