Medical Assisant - Actalent

Description: 1. Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, provider offices, and treatment room as appropriate. 2. Records patient data prior to each provider visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. 3. Obtains all necessary patient records as required by provider and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures. 4. Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed. 5. Assists providers with exams and procedures as requested. 6. Assists with delegated patient education activities including but not limited to distributing education literature, etc. 7. Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions. 8. Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections after appropriate training and supervision, including but not limited to, vaccines and biological growth factors. 9. Documents all elements of care. Communicates all pertinent information to the attending provider. 10. Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols. Processes instruments and equipment as needed. Adheres to CCNW policies regarding use of protective personal equipment (PPE) and hygiene standards in workplace. 11. Provides telephone or in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge. Communicates clinical information from screening interviews to appropriate providers/supervisors in a timely manner to support care coordination. 12. Phones in prescriptions, complete with proper documentation, and keeps an accurate medication list for all patients under his/her care. 13. Schedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and schedules appointments to follow-up on test results, as applicable. 14. Assists with select pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed. Informs provider of patient reschedules and no shows. 15. Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc. 16. Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing, faxing, reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or provider. 17. Maintains indigent drug program and sample drug program as assigned. 18. Maintains current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities. 19. Participates in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. 20. Maintains patient confidentiality. 21. Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned. Skills: Medical assisting, Patient care, Cma, Phlebotomy, Medical, Health care, Customer service Top Skills Details: Medical assisting, Patient care Additional Skills & Qualifications: - Washington: High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Graduate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants. Current DOH MA Certified or able to obtain DOH MA Registered credentials or Current DOH Nursing Assistant Certified in a hospital or clinic setting. CPR certification. - previous phlebotomy experience preferred - have a five (5) years' experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting. - Regularly stand, bend, stoop/crouch, grasp, reach, talk, and hear.
