Responsibilities
This position is eligible for a $2k sign on bonus!!
Provides basic level of patient care and treatments. Assists with obtaining vital signs documents chief complaint and all actions taken. Alerts physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities. Assists with obtaining patient history assists physicians and residents and/or licensed nursing personnel. Performs simple patient procedures sets up exam/procedure rooms including instruments for minor procedures prepares and may include administrating medications (excluding IV) under direct supervision of a physician. Obtains lab specimen and fills out requisitions completely and accurately. In addition to the above the Medical Assistant II functions more independently and coordinates the workflow of MAs when necessary. Obtains authorization for referral (normally in small clinics). Conducts front desk duties such as registration check-in and scheduling of patients.
Qualifications
Minimum
+ High School Diploma/GED
+ Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program or completion of a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
+ Note: Candidates who were hired prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing proof of direct supervision for a minimum of 2,000 hours by the same physician, physician group or physician assistant.
+ Current American Heart Association BLS card
+ Basic computer skills required
+ Outlook Windows-based programs
+ Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients required.
Preferred
+ Previous MA experience highly preferred.
+ Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred. Previous experience in designated specialty also preferred.
+ Bilingual skills preferred.
Pay Range
$17.12 - $23.54 /hour
