About the Job
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to providers, patients, and vendors to ensure the efficient operation of the practice. The ideal candidate for this position is a polished individual who is comfortable in a fast-paced setting. They will have a friendly personality, be a team player, intrinsically motivated, solution-driven, a consummate professional, possess excellent communication skills, and will go above and beyond in all they do. Applicants must show integrity, professionalism, empathy and be able to display forward thinking in the daily workflow. Superior phones, people, and communication skills are a must. Applicants should be dependable and able to navigate situations in a timely and effective manner without sacrificing quality of work. The ability to multitask and effective time management skills are essential. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Proficient suture, bolster, and drain removal
- Rooming patients
- Interview patients to document health history via EMR
- Scribing
- Before and after photo documentation
- Room stocking, setup, and sanitation
- Assisting with in-office surgeries and elective procedures
- Process, label, and send out pathology and laboratory specimens
- Instrument processing
- Laundry
- Equipment and supplies inventory
- Maintain, request, and provide medical records ensuring HIPAA compliance and accuracy
- Schedule, authorize, and obtain clearance for ASC cases
- Proficient work with EMR, PMS, Google Suite, and other web-based platforms
- Triage patient calls, assess concerns, coordinate with providers then close the loop with patients
- Day preparation and other administrative tasks
- Cross-train to efficiently work at the front office as well as in an administrative MA role
The majority of hours will be scheduled at our Chicago office however we require an individual with the ability to commute to the Burr Ridge office 1-2 days per week.
