Make an Impact as a Medical Assistant!
The NewPath Child & Family Solutions Medical Assistant plays an essential role by supporting the office of Central Medical Services. The Medical Assistant will work with clients to prepare them to see the primary provider, manage the daily operations such as answering phone calls/messages, review and document labs, administer injections, complete prior authorizations, and order necessary medical supplies.
Location: This is a full-time position located at our NewPath Central Campus.
Schedule: Mon-Wed 8am-5pm; Thurs 8am-6pm; Fri 8am-1pm.

What You Will Be Doing
- Obtain pertinent vital signs and interim history prior to appointments.
- Assure that all messages left for the clinic are checked in accordance with the expectation.
- Assist with obtaining all lab orders for clients as ordered by the prescriber.
- Maintain client charts.
- Administer IM injections to clients as directed by prescriber.
- Order medical supplies as necessary.
- Complete prior authorizations.
- Available to prescribers during medication management appointments to assist with patient care, record request, education, assessment and treatment if needed.
- Complete school administration forms for medication and acquire prescriber's signature.
- Work as a liaison between prescribers, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, school personnel, and NewPath staff.
What You Bring To The Table
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in related field preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification required.
- 2-4 years experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
- Experience with a special population with mental health diagnoses strongly preferred.
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certified strongly preferred.
- Excellent Customer Service Experience.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and computer-based systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a background check, have a valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance with no DUI/OVI violations and no more than 5 points on your MVR.
- A clean criminal background check.
