Medical Assistant

The ideal candidate must possess excellent computer skills as we are an electronic medical records-based practice. Qualified candidates must have completed a certified Medical Assistant education program and have a minimum of two years of relevant experience. This position is located at our Denver office (which is in the Rose Medical Campus ). Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The position is not a remote position you must be in the office. This position will remain open until filled.
We offer excellent benefits, generous paid time off plan and highly competitive pay, starting at $22 - $23 per hour commensurate with experience. Bi-lingual pay may be offered. Employment at Colorado Kidney Care is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment screening and background check.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet patients and perform Check-in and Check-out procedures in an accurate and timely manner
- Room patients, process urine specimens, and take vitals
- Process patient payments and perform billing payment entry
- Prepare payment batches and maintain accurate office money and cash transactions
- Schedule patient appointments
- Perform medication, test and procedure authorizations
- Distribute notes and information to outside providers/entities when needed
- Prepare for patient office visits and prepare lab work in patient charts
- Maintain appointment waitlist and schedule waitlist appointments whenever possible
- Scan and attach patient medical records and administrative documents in EMR
- Utilize and maintain office communication through Outlook, calendars, and task reminder
- Review and process incoming faxes, and flow labs that are not electronically sent
- Make patient reminder calls for lab work two weeks prior to patient appointments
- Cross coverage of other duties as needed & other duties as assigned
