Medical Assistant - Endocrinology at Grand Traverse Internal and Family Medicine

*Job Overview*We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care in various medical settings.*Responsibilities** Working one on one with physician to provide care for patients each day.* Establish personal rapport with patients in order to fully understand their healthcare requirements.* Triage calls for urgent appointments and other patient questions/needs.* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician - medication review, vital signs, reason for visit.* Perform HbA1c testing.* Gather and assess objective and subjective data from the patient to report to physician prior to visit.* Document data and assessments in the patient record.* Explain treatment, procedures, medications, and physician's instructions to patients.* Operating medical equipment such as glucometer and professional continuous glucose monitor.* Send prescription refills and complete DME form as directed by physician.* Prior Authorizations* Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.* Prepare and administer injections as directed by physician.* Call patients to follow up on treatment plan, questions.* Other duties as necessary.*Requirements*- Prior experience in a medical setting, such as a clinic, hospital, or emergency medicine- Strong patient care and service skills- eClinicalWorks experience a bonusJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.10 - $19.06 per hourExpected hours: 32 - 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Disability insurance* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceMedical Specialty:* EndocrinologySchedule:* Monday to Friday* No weekendsExperience:* EMR systems: 1 year (Required)* Patient care: 1 year (Required)* Communication skills: 1 year (Required)Work Location: In person
