HSC Health primary and multispecialty care clinics are located on the HSC campus in Fort Worth. Position Overview
HSC Health Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team of healthcare providers at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. This role requires a candidate with strong organizational skills, a diverse set of interests and skill set, and strong interpersonal communication abilities. Candidate must exhibit compassion, understanding, the ability to work well in teams, and the ability to function in a fast paced environment is critical for this position.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program and six (6) months of customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
Required License/Registration/Certifications
- Medical Assistant certification, and CPR (BLS) certification.
Job Duties:
- Measure patient vital signs as standard of care. Perform procedures, injections, and administer vaccines as ordered by the provider. All care documented in the electronic health record.
- Optimize patient scheduling by managing patient flow and providing access to care. Following standard Department workflows.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Clean and sterilize instruments and properly dispose of contaminated or expired medical supplies.
- Perform and process routine laboratory tests and sample analyses as ordered by provider.
- Thoroughly complete provider orders, referrals, and insurance authorizations to ensure timely delivery of care and provide patient with educational material.
- Deliver culturally competent care that respects each patients individual beliefs.
