Job Summary:
Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic is a newly founded team-based physician-led, comprehensive health and wellness clinic in the beautiful area of Gillette, Wyoming. Our company was created to provide prospective healthcare resources to the community and meet the needs of our patient base. We are seeking CMA's to permanently join our team of internists, specialists, and other medical staff. This position will offer a traditional approached to medicine, as well as concierge, prospective care, and other methods focused on regenerative/ longevity medicine and research. Additionally, this position will begin with company provided scribe training from one of our leading physicians. This program is designed to elevate your skills sets and help promote career advancement.
The Certified Medical Assistant provides medical assistance under the supervision of a physician, physician's assistant, or nursing staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists in exam rooms by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording weight, blood pressure, and temperature.
- Draws blood and gives injections.
- Documents patient information, and ensures it is complete prior to exam.
- Ensures exam rooms are clean and well stocked. Sterilizes, cleans, and performs checks on medical equipment.
- Performs office duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Provides positive customer relations in dealing with patients, families, physicians, fellow department employees, other hospital departments, referral resources, service agencies, and others.
- May train new employees and Medical Assistant students.
- Adheres to department/hospital policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities sufficient to perform essential functions.
- Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Perform work under direct supervision.
- Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Education and Experience:
- Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
- Typically requires a degree from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program.
- 1-3 years of experience.
- CMA certification through an accredited certified medical assistant program required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing for extended periods, and sometimes lifting or carrying medical equipment or supplies.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- The ability to assist patients with mobility or transfers.
- May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases.
- The ability to stay composed and focused during emergency situations or when dealing with
- stressed or anxious patients is important.
