Medical Assistant - Arkansas Urology

HOURS

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Responsible for patient care and all of their needs including clinical & administrative tasks. Communicate with the Physician and his/her nurse so that each patient is assured of the proper care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greet patients in a polite and helpful manner. Provide necessary instructions.

2. Assist doctor and nurse with patient's care.

3. Collect urine samples and draw blood.

4. Set up sterile procedure trays, vasectomies, catheter changes, interstims, and cystos.

5. Assist with chart data management, such as labs and radiology.

6. Check daily charts for needed tests scheduled, such as x-rays, blood draws, etc.

7. Maintain adequate medical supplies in exam rooms on daily basis.

8. Maintain patient confidentiality.

9. Maintain proper flow of patients and orders directed by physician.

10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

RMA or CMA preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Education:  High school diploma; MA certification preferred; Experience in Clinic &/or Urology experience as an medical assistant preferred, but not required.  

Experience:  Minimum of one year work experience in public contact job, preferably medical/service related.  Experience or interest in health care.
