Mon-Thur 8a-5p, Fri 8a-12p (requires one day a week travel)

Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the provider with patient care and coordinate with other members of the healthcare team to insure high quality patient care.

Scope of Responsibility

Medical Assistants and/or Licensed Vocational Nurses perform duties under the supervision of a physician. Interviews patients and prepare them for provider exam and treatment,  measures vital signs and records information in EHR system. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assist physician with procedures. Clean and sterilize instruments. Administer injections to patients. Coordinate discharge planning and follow up care of the patients.

Job Requirements

• High School Education or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent years of experience or Current Licensure with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
• Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider
• 1 to 2 years previous physician's office experience preferred
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management, visitors and outside sources
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current insurance coverage
• Previous Urology office experience preferred
