Medical Assistant - Mobile Wound Care - United Woundcare Institute

We are looking for a passionate and driven Medical Assistant for our rapidly growing Southfield, Michigan market representing a critical part of our care delivery team.

Responsibilities:

• Contact patients to schedule date/time for provider visits
• Perform patient evaluations and submit it to the Medical Director (wound pictures and wound measurements).
• Responsible for drawing blood from patients
• Confirm you have the proper supplies for patient visits for provider, order supplies, and making sure bag is properly stocked at all times
• Assisting provider in procedures with direction from provider
• Performing dressing changes for wounds
• Provide effective, efficient, professional, and timely communication with patient, family, coworkers, management and care partners.
• Take notes from provider and input into EMR and other related documentation
• Traveling to patient homes
• Report to Director of Operations, Michigan
• Position consists of riding in car with Wound Care Nurse
• Assist in implementation of United Woundcare Institute's clinical and operational protocols.
• All other tasks and action items as requested and approved by leadership.

Qualifications for this position:

• Medical Assistant Diploma
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Ability to and willingness to travel, treating patients in their homes (Southfield, MI area).
• Experience in Wound care is a plus.

Considerations:

• Position is a mobile position with higher-than-average travel time.
• Position involves direct patient care, potentially heavy lifting, etc.
• Wound care is performed at the patient's residence, and regional facilities.
