About the Job
The Medical Assistant is a key member of the clinical team, dedicated to delivering the highest quality of patient care. Responsibilities include both administrative and clinical duties, such as rooming patients, taking vitals, and conducting various tests. The Medical Assistant prepares patients for the physician and performs tasks in accordance with NYS guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and disinfect exam rooms, stock supplies
- Perform Health & Safety Assessment tasks, including log-keeping and quality checks
- Set up and maintain equipment
- Conduct lab tests and quality control following NYS guidelines
- Assist physicians with exams and treatments within the scope of practice
- Collect and label specimens (blood, urine) following proper protocols
- Maintain confidentiality and follow safety/security procedures
- Adhere to HIPAA and company policies
- Participate in mandatory training and meetings
- High School diploma or equivalent
- MA Certification
- Team player with the ability to work well with physicians and staff
- Knowledge of EMR, Word Processing, and healthcare software
Working Environment:
Full-time position (37.5 hours/week) in a fast-paced, patient-interactive setting. High level of professionalism is required.

According to the NYS Department of Education, tasks that cannot be performed by medical assistants or unlicensed persons include:
- Triage, plan and evaluate patient care
- Treat & diagnose patient in person, online or by phone
- Interpret test results or advise patients about medical conditions
- Administering medications through any route,
- Administering contrast dyes or injections of any kind
- Placing sutures
- Taking x-rays or independently positioning patients for x-rays
- Applying casts
- First assisting in surgical procedures
- High School diploma or equivalent
- MA Certification
- Team player with the ability to work well with physicians and staff
