A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Reporting directly to the Medical Director, The Medical Assistant (MA) Is responsible for supporting the daily clinical operations by assisting with patient intake, preparing examination rooms, and performing routine medical tasks such as taking vitals, administering injections, following up on lab orders and monitoring results to ensure timely communication with the healthcare team. Additionally, the MA assist with administrative duties, including scheduling, patient record management, and contributing to a smooth and welcoming patient experience. The medical assistant will have primary duties in care coordination and medical assistance. The main function of this position is to coordinate whole-person care, bidirectional care, and care coordination for Consejo's patients
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
- High School diploma or GED required and 1plus years' experience
- Currently is a Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice
- Current American Heart Association BLS card
- 1+ years' experience
- Knowledge of billing, coding, and medical terminology
- Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing both English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize.
- Demonstrated experience in an office setting.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time Medical Assistant position works a typical schedule of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday.
SALARY
$25.00 - $27.88/hr. based on qualifications and experience.
